It's me, the author of the book, and now the CEO of the brand/website - DJ McLachlan. In the spirit of my book, and always keeping it real - as an FYI, my real name is "Dave." DJ was my father's name, and meant to pay tribute to him, as he is no longer with us. Mom is though. :)
While "Blogs" will have no shortage of variants, POVs, themes, topics, etc., it's valuable and potentially insightful to capture my journey in trying to make an impact on the world. Let's start with the motivation - which some of you know from reading my book - my kids. While the notion of inherently protecting them forever is one, my experience is also fuel for the motivational fire. That experience?? DIVORCE!!!! It sucks, big time. And I was cursed with the unexplainable end, that still has no closure, even after a two-year custody trial, a two-year and counting verdict (that has not happened despite overwhelming the court with evidence and exposing over 40 lies against me - all from a woman I loved until the day she left - and had NO clue it was coming. The details of her leaving would likely disturb you all, even after the curious ones of the bunch ask the "there's gotta be more to the story" questions. Those answers strengthen my case and motivation to build this website.
At one point, we'll get into the above in detail - but now, I'm building you all a website. It's time-consuming, not cheap, and requires a lot of attention. It's my hope the dream pays off; if I stop one bad relationship from happening, it's a win. If I stop hundreds, we're all celebrating somehow, and WHEN I stop thousands, it'll be a result of the community that spawns from this effort, and you all will have changed the world by creating something to point to - real data, real stories, and the realities of dating.
Some will thank me for saving them, some won't know it happened, and some will be grateful for the partner they have and can validate week after week and month after month. Your friends, family, and children will all be a part of your relationship journey. I'm doing my best to make it valuable for you at every turn and to continue increasing that value.
So far, so good - I have support, an initial investor, and the drive.
Change HAS to happen - and women have the collective power to demand it. This website is the first big step for womankind - thank you for taking it. Launch is coming soon....
